- Description
- The Muju Nongak of Jeolla Left Province is characterized by its fast-paced and energetic rhythm, gradually escalating into powerful jinpuri (formation changes) and dynamic sangmo (ribbon hat) spinning. Beginning with the gilgut (street performance), the program features a range of Jeolla Left Province–specific pieces such as Gat-eun Yeoldu-machi, Machi-gut, Pumak-i-gut, Neujeun Samchae, and the powerful Hoho-gut with vigorous jinpuri, followed by Yeongsan with beautiful small gong play and Chum-gut, the highlight of Ginori. The performance concludes with Machi-gut, signaling the end of the show to the audience. Throughout the program, dramatic sangmo spinning, seol-janggu drumming, yeoldu-bal sangmo group spinning, and yonggi performances heighten excitement and provide great enjoyment to the spectators.
